The Media Literacy Coalition is a networking association founded in 2017 that brings together organizations in the fields of education, journalism and civic participation, academics, and media literacy experts. The Coalition works to integrate media literacy into the educational process and to increase media literacy for all other age groups in Bulgarian society. Among the priorities of the organization are: raising awareness about the importance of both free and independent media and media literacy for every democratic society, promoting and nurturing active citizenship through participation, advocacy work for the development and enforcement of adequate, sustainable, and consistent strategy and policy measures for the development of media literacy, collaboration and coordination with other leading and active organizations beyond the borders of Bulgaria (EU, Europe, global), creating one-stop-shop for everything media, digital and information literacy for all Bulgarians.
