Region Sörmland

Region Sörmland (registration number 232100-0032) is a Swedish regional public authority headquartered in Nyköping. Its highest decision-making body is the directly elected Regional Council with 79 members; executive power lies with the Regional Executive Board of 15 members and several specialist committees and subsidiary boards.

Under Swedish law the region is mandated to:
• provide and finance health care and dental care
• manage public transport (Sörmlandstrafiken)
• lead and coordinate regional development (business, innovation, infrastructure, climate and environment)
• promote culture, adult education, research, higher education and international cooperation.
