Region Sörmland (registration number 232100-0032) is a Swedish regional public authority headquartered in Nyköping. Its highest decision-making body is the directly elected Regional Council with 79 members; executive power lies with the Regional Executive Board of 15 members and several specialist committees and subsidiary boards.
Under Swedish law the region is mandated to:• provide and finance health care and dental care• manage public transport (Sörmlandstrafiken)• lead and coordinate regional development (business, innovation, infrastructure, climate and environment)• promote culture, adult education, research, higher education and international cooperation.
