The University of Southern Denmark is defined by excellent research, forming the foundation for high-quality, societally relevant education. We combine classical academic virtues with innovation and forward thinking through interdisciplinary collaboration across our five faculties and with external partners. Concerning this network three faculties offers interesting opportunities for collaboration.
Faculty of Business and Social Sciences
Research and training in cybersecurity is grounded in a cybersecurity supply chain management risk approach that through a supply chain process model for supply chain resilience aims to provide a cross-functional understanding and alignment of vulnerabilities and risks and the needed capabilities to handle it. Furthermore, scenario planning are offered consisting of future cyberthreat scenarios. The faculty also conducts research on and education in the overlaps between geopolitics, cyber security and intelligence work through the professional Master in Intelligence and Cyber Studies offered in cooperation with the Royal Danish Defense College.
Faculty of Engineering
Research and training in cybersecurity is grounded in a software engineering approach that focuses on both the processes and technologies to understand vulnerabilities and risks and the technical solutions to address them. Furthermore, the faculty cover enabling technologies like crypto and their implementation. The research also includes the impact of cyber-security and information-security on software system design, e.g. in data-driven, AI-based and robotic systems. The faculty offer several educational programs around software engineering teaching these topics.
Faculty of Natural Sciences
Research and training in cybersecurity is always seen through a holistic lens, focusing on the technology that enables secure systems, such as formal verification, DevSecOps, and programming language features, but also on the human aspects of cybersecurity, such as awareness or training measures through gamification, the viability of security solutions for humans, and aspects of cybersecurity and privacy in emerging technologies. Aside from the "Cyber security and cloud computing" specialization of the computer science Master's programme, the faculty also supports students in cybersecurity-related extracurricular activities such as the preparation for and participation in the Danish national capture-the-flag championship.
