Our pledge

AIPIA commits, through the AIPIA Open AI Literacy Programme 2026-2027, to provide open AI literacy resources and public activities that are free of charge and free of conditions for beneficiaries: no membership, no purchase and, wherever possible, no registration is required. This programme sits on top of AIPIA's core activity as a professional association and includes none of its paid services.

Our initiatives 

Commitments (7 September 2026 - 31 December 2027)

1. Free public online briefings. AIPIA runs a recurring programme of free online sessions, open to everyone, on AI literacy, the responsible use of AI and the practical meaning of the EU AI Act. The first session under this pledge, Proving AI Literacy: How Italy Is Turning AI Act Article 4 Into Verifiable Credentials, takes place online, in English, on 7 October 2026.
2. AI Act literacy for professionals and SMEs. AIPIA publishes free, practice-oriented material on what the AI Act means in practice for professionals, small and medium-sized enterprises, educators and public-sector staff, with particular attention to the AI literacy duty set out in Article 4.
3. Open self-assessment of AI skills. AIPIA keeps its AI competency self-assessment test freely available, with no registration required, so that anyone can check their own level and identify gaps.
4. Free guides and open publications. AIPIA publishes free downloadable guides to artificial intelligence and makes selected outputs of its editorial work openly available.

Target groups: professionals and self-employed practitioners; employees of small and medium-sized enterprises; educators and trainers; public-sector staff; and citizens seeking a first, reliable grounding in artificial intelligence.

Measurable objectives: at least 250 people per year taking part in the free activities covered by this pledge, and at least 500 people in total by 31 December 2027; the number of free public briefings and dissemination activities delivered, reported annually; and the number of free resources published, reported annually. These indicators are aligned with the commitment AIPIA submitted in September 2026 to the European Pact for Skills and to the Italian national digital skills coalition (Repubblica Digitale), so that reporting stays consistent across the three. The 2026–2027 pilot covers high schools in Liguria, Italy, with an initial focus on Genoa, Chiavari, Rapallo and Sestri Levante.
