DigiEduHack

DigiEduHack is an initiative by the European Institute of Technology (EIT) within the framework of the European Commission's Digital Education Action Plan. The initiative is led by the EIT Climate, one of the 8 Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) of the EIT, and coordinated by the Finnish Aalto University. The goal of the initiative is to redefine learning through non-formal and vocational education with a strong focus on digital innovation. 

The Digital Education Hackathons are organised on a yearly basis in the form of a series of online and offline idea-hackathons happening all around the world over 2 days. The events are open and free for all and no background knowledge of coding is necessary for participation. The hackathons are organised on a multilevel approach, with 50 challenges available to participants. The 3 solutions with the most public votes are declared Global Winners, and each winning team receives a 5000€ award to enable further development of their solution.

DigiEduHack creates a virtual environment and encompasses a global community, committed to continuous and lifelong learning. Many ideas and solutions developed during the hackathons have been highlighted as impactful,  with the potential to contribute to the development of skills in education. The hackathons focus on key themes, such as emerging technologies for education, accessibility or data-driven education, tackling all the aspects of digital education, lifelong learning and vocational training.

The 5th edition of DigiEduHack will take place 8-17 Nov 2024.
