Digital Opportunity Traineeships Created byMatteo Mirigliano|Updated25 July 2024The Digital Opportunity Traineeships is a European institutional initiative, funded through the Erasmus+ programme, which aims to provide an opportunity for recent graduate and students to gain practical and valuable experience in the area of technology in a company abroad. This EU initiative is coordinated by ESN - Erasmus Student Network, and aims to match the needs of companies in need of digitally skilled workforce, with students and recent graduates looking for a first experience in the tech sector. This way, the Digital Opportunity Traineeships tackles a variety of objectives: maintaining Europe's global competitiveness in a fast-changing environment; increasing employability of recent graduates and students; helping companies, from small and medium sized organisations (SMEs) to large corporations to find workforce with a skills set that suits current digital trends. Companies participating in the programme cover a variety of fields and types of emerging technologies. Digital Opportunity Traineeships can be carried out in any of the fields below: Development of apps, software, scripts, websites.Installation, maintenance and management of information technology (IT) systems and networks.Data analytics. Cybersecurity. Cloud. Quantum computing /Artificial IntelligenceEncryption.Blockchain. Data mining, privacy and visualisation. Programming languages. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).Digital marketing. Specific software apps for work. Customer Care Management. The Digital Opportunity Traineeships are available to students and recent graduates, based in any one of the Erasmus+ Programme Countries. Students located in Erasmus+ Partner Countries can also participate. Trainees receive on average €500/month, depending on the member state through a grant via their university. Participating companies can also top up the grant.
