Erasmus+ Created byMatteo Mirigliano|Updated23 July 2024The European Union's Erasmus+ programme is a funding scheme, which supports activities, workshops and knowledge-sharing within the fields of education, training, youth and sport. The programme is managed by National Agencies (on a national level), and by the EACEA on European level. The European Commission is responsible for the policies behind the programme and also monitors and coordinates the programme's successful implementation. The estimated budget for the 2021-2027 programme is €26.2 billion, nearly double the funding previously allocated to it. The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. The programme also functions alongside the European Pillar of Social Rights, implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027 and develops the European dimension in sport. The Erasmus+ database offers many funding opportunities, including grants and training in many fields.
