Erasmus+

The European Union's Erasmus+ programme is a funding scheme, which supports activities, workshops and knowledge-sharing within the fields of education, training, youth and sport. The programme is managed by National Agencies (on a national level), and by the EACEA on European level. The European Commission is responsible for the policies behind the programme and also monitors and coordinates the programme's successful implementation. The estimated budget for the 2021-2027 programme is €26.2 billion, nearly double the funding previously allocated to it. 

The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. 
The programme also functions alongside the European Pillar of Social Rights, implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027 and develops the European dimension in sport. 

The Erasmus+ database offers many funding opportunities, including grants and training in many fields. Resources and activities within the education sector, and specifically digital education, sport, youth and training are also available. The programme provides a wide range of options for mobility and skill building: 

• Allowing individuals to spend some time abroad, either as volunteers or workers, and develop further their foreign language skills
• Providing an opportunity for companies, SMEs and organisations to establish partnerships in academic and vocational contexts
• Encourage the development of trainings and resources targeting adult learning and European sports events with a collaborative element
• Offering support and targeted expertise when it comes to teaching, research and policy practices in teaching, learning and higher education on a wide range of European topics
• Cooperation and mobility opportunities in vocational education and training (VET), and also in the area of youth and sport
• Promoting the continuous development of school education (including early childhood education and care). 

Erasmus+ also supports teaching, research, networking and policy debate on a wide range of EU topics and provides a comparative analysis of national systems and policies, targeting early childhood and adult education.
