BioInnovation Greece Forum 2026: Shaping the Biotechnology Ecosystem of Greece

From 1 to 4 October 2026, Technopolis City of Athens will host the BioInnovation Greece Forum 2026, one of the most important events in the field of biotechnology, life sciences and innovation in Greece. According to the organizers (BioInnovation Greece), the Forum will bring together leaders from the fields of biotechnology, health, research, startups, investment and public policy, creating a unique environment for dialogue and cooperation.

BioInnovation Greece Forum 2026 aspires to actively contribute to the shaping of the country's biotechnological ecosystem, bringing to the fore the most transformative developments in the industry and promoting cooperation between research, entrepreneurship and the investment community. Particular emphasis is also given to the contribution of the Greek diaspora, which is an important pillar of support for the effort for a more innovative and competitive Greece.

With the central message that "where pioneering science meets transformative technology", the event aspires to bring together more than 500 participants, over 150 speakers and dozens of sessions and workshops, highlighting the latest developments in the field of biotechnology.

The event includes a total of five days of activities, with the Opening Ceremony taking place on 30 September 2026 at Gazi Music Hall and the main program of the Forum taking place from 1 to 4 October in Technopolis, City of Athens.

Thematic

The BioInnovation Greece Forum 2026 programme is structured around four main thematic pillars, reflecting the scope of the discussions to be hosted at the Forum and evolving as the programme is finalised:

• Health Tech: From discovery to clinical effect. It focuses on developments that are transforming patient health and care. Discussions will cover issues such as the systemic approach to health, healthcare innovation, digital health ecosystems, biobanks and the uptake of health data, as well as the responsible use of artificial intelligence in medicine.

• Frontier Technologies: State-of-the-art technologies for competitiveness and strategic autonomy. It explores the technologies that shape the future of biotechnology and health systems. Topics to be discussed include artificial intelligence in health systems, large-scale biological engineering, AI-assisted drug discovery, biosecurity and biodefence, and the role of science diplomacy in international cooperation.

• Startups & Innovation: From idea to business and investment. It focuses on transforming research and innovative ideas into sustainable business initiatives. The program includes topics around academic entrepreneurship and BioSTART, start-up presentations, the importance of proof-of-concept infrastructure, institutional investments, partnerships with industry and opportunities for expansion in international markets.

• One Health: Human, environmental and planetary health. It highlights the interdependence of human health with the environment and global ecosystems. Discussions will focus on microbiome research, agri-food technologies and food systems, longevity, innovation policies and the future of research as a driver of economic resilience and sustainable development.
