Can existing education policies strengthen women’s careers in STEM and Nuclear Science?

Female scientists and engineers were leaders in nuclear science and radiology, with leading and innovative personalities, including Marie Skłodowska-Curie and Lise MEITNER, laying the foundations of modern nuclear science and technology.

However, reports such as “The persistence of gender discrimination in education and skills” illustrate the shortage of girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) professions, and underline the importance of strengthening the education system to attract, commit and retain more women in these fields.

Join us to International Women’s Day in Engineering, where the OECD’s Directorate for Education and Skills and the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) will host an expert panel to discuss the latest educational initiatives to attract more women to STEM and ask whether policymakers have tried enough?
