CONNECT University: How Cyber Security Skills Fit into EU Human Resource Strategies

The EU is facing a significant shortage of trained cybersecurity personnel, estimated to be at 800.000, putting the EU, its Member States, businesses, and citizens at risk of cybersecurity incidents. Employers' unwillingness to invest in human capital, preferring to hire already trained and experienced workers, leads to the labor market's confinement. This shortage impacts many sorts of enterprises, including SMEs and government agencies.
In this context, the European Commission adopted the Communication on the Cybersecurity Skills Academy in April 2023, a policy initiative aimed at bringing together existing cyber skills initiatives and improving their coordination, with the goal of closing the cybersecurity talent gap and boosting the EU's competitiveness, growth, and resilience.
Join the event "How Cyber Security Skills Fit into EU Human Resource Strategies'" on Monday, 09 October to learn how the Academy will define and assess important skills, track the progression of skill shortages, and provide insights into the online ecosystem's emerging demands. The event is organised by CONNECT University, the EU's DG Connect initiative that aims to inform the EU staff and the general public about the latest digital trends and challenges which are highly linked with EU's relevant policies.
