Digital Economy Forum 2025: “From vision to impact”
The 2025 edition of the annual Digital Economy Forum takes place on Monday, 15 December under the title "From vision to impact". The location is the Athenaeum IntercontinentalAthens Hotel, while there is also the possibility to join online via a digital HD live stream.
About this event
The prevalence of digital technology, in every aspect of human activity, redefines entrepreneurship, everyday life and governance in Greece. In the context of the digital transformation, but also of the challenges and opportunities arising from the digital revolution, the digital economy forum 2025: “From vision to impact” is organised by the Hellenic Association of Informatics and Communications Enterprises (SEPE) and under the auspices of the SA of the President of the Republic, Mr Konstantinos An. Tasoula.
Invited keynote speaker at the official dinner is the President of the Greek Government,Mr Kyriakos Mitsotakis,while the Opening of the Conference has been invited to take place by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Nikos Androulakis.
At the same time, this year, the digital economy forum has the honour of hosting as a keynote speaker an internationally acclaimed personality, Mr. Thomas Jensen, Chief Executive Officer of Milestone Systems, a leading company in the convergence of video, technology and data. The event gives the floor to key speakers and experts to present perspectives on the largest issues ahead the digital transformation's future - from the impact on the public and private sectors, to the applications of AI, the footprint of the digital industry through the lens of growth and social wellbeing, or the role of Greece as the digital hub of Southeast Europe.
Organisation
SEPE, which celebrates 30 years of dynamic presence this year, through its Annual Institutional Conference on the digital economy and as an institutional interlocutor and partner of the State, supports the exchange of views between institutions, bodies and the market, with the aim of making full use of digital technology, which will act as a key factor for development and progress.
Thematic focus
The digital economy forum 2025: “From vision to impact” focuses on the transition from the vision and strategic choice of a new digital Greece to the real impact and added value that only digital technology can bring for the country. It highlights how technology, artificial intelligence and digital innovation are transforming vision into reality for the economy, business and society.
In this context, emphasis will be placed on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its integration into businesses to improve efficiency and create a competitive market in our country, but also on the successful activation of digital technology companies in the fields of defence, space industry and cybersecurity. At the same time, leading representatives of the industry will refer to the changes and developments that have taken place over the last 30 years, but also to the technological trends that will transform entrepreneurship, the economy and our everyday life in the coming decades.
At the same time, at a special event entitled "From Progress to the Future: The New Charter of the Tax Administration", top executives of the AADE, institutional bodies and digital technology companies will outline the prospects for the utilization of digital technology in the field of tax administration.
In the digital economy forum 2025: “From vision to impact” will bring together top government officials, staff in the European Institutions, representatives of sectoral bodies and organisations, experts in the global digital technology market, as well as representatives of businesses in the digital technology sector and other sectors of the economy. Through interesting discussions, critical questions about the challenges and opportunities related to the prosperity of Greek society and the development of the national economy will be answered.
