Digital Storytelling Festival 2025

Every year, the Europeana Initiative organises the Digital Storytelling Festival, an international event supporting cultural heritage professionals, educators, creatives, and students to develop their storytelling skills and explore cultural themes. The festival encourages connections between art, culture, history, and the contemporary world. The 2025 edition will take place from 13-14 May, as part of the Festival, the Online Creative Residency brings together students and early-career professionals to work with expert mentors in areas such as writing, animation, social media, video, and collage art

The theme for this year’s residency is food.

Food is a subject that is both personal and global, connected to ideas of home, journey, family, and friendship. It relates to health, well-being, and broader issues such as sustainability, environmental impact, and cultural traditions. This year’s residency invites participants to explore and interpret the many dimensions of this theme.
