Euractiv event "Digital Values in the Democratic Age - How can tech companies reinforce and strengthen European democracy?"
Democracy is challenged at a global level and technology is perceived to have both a positive and negative impact on it. Building democratic resilience and ensuring that technology helps protect and promote democratic institutions and values is crucial. The European Democracy Action Plan (EDAP) put forward by the European Commission aims to tackle threats to democratic processes within Europe. Tech companies must do their part to protect their values however it must also reflect on its roles and obligations to democratic societies.
