MERIT Hybrid International Industry Engagement Workshop on Cybersecurity

On 7 May 2026, the MERIT projectwill host the International International Industry Engagement Workshop on Cybersecurity, bringing together stakeholders from across Europe in a hybrid format, with participation possible both onsite in Trento, Italy, and online.

Organised in the framework of the MERIT General Assembly, the workshop will convene representatives from industry, academia, research organisations, and innovation ecosystems to exchange perspectives on pressing cybersecurity challenges, emerging technologies, and the skills needed to strengthen Europe’s digital resilience.

About this event 

The event will provide a collaborative platform to foster dialogue between higher education institutions and industry, with a focus on aligning educational programmes with real-world needs. Participants will benefit from practical insights, expert discussions, and opportunities to explore joint initiatives in cybersecurity education, research, and innovation.

The workshop aims to:

• Strengthen collaboration between industry and higher education institutions
• Explore current cybersecurity challenges and emerging threats
• Showcase innovative cybersecurity technologies and solutions
• Identify key skills required for the cybersecurity workforce
• Encourage cross-sector collaboration in research, education, and innovation
