MERIT International Industry Engagement Workshop on Internet of Things

The MERIT project is organising the International Industry Engagement Workshop on Internet of Things (IoT) on 16 June 2026. The hybrid event will bring together representatives from industry, higher education institutions, research organisations, students, and digital innovation stakeholders to explore how IoT technologies are transforming the digital economy. The workshop will focus on the practical use of IoT across different sectors, highlighting how connected devices, systems, data, and people are enabling smarter infrastructures, automation, and data-driven decision-making. Through expert presentations and interactive discussions, participants will gain insights into real-world IoT applications, emerging technology trends, and the skills needed by future digital professionals.

A key objective of the event is to strengthen dialogue between industry and higher education. The discussions will contribute to the continuous development of MERIT educational programmes, helping ensure that learning content remains aligned with labour market needs and technological developments in areas such as IoT, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
