TechFuse Conference, 5-6 April 2024: Bridging Technology, Innovation and Culture

TechFuse is a two day, annual conference happening for the first time in Greece that bridges technology and innovation with culture.
The conference is organised by the Non-Profit Society “Innovation and Digital Economy Hub” in collaboration with the C.Ioannina digital nomadic community, supported by domestic and international public and private bodies, and aims to be held every year.
The main objectives of the conference are the following:
- Make Ioannina a regional hub for innovation and digital economy.
- Contribute to the strengthening and wider development of the local and regional ecosystem.
- Promote the sustainable development of Epirus and create multiplier value for the local community.
Conference agenda
The TechFuse conference will cover issues related to ecosystem development, cutting-edge technologies, the evolution of innovation and start-up entrepreneurship, the impact of technology on society and work, the relationship between technology and culture and wider regional development at economic and social level.
The agenda is multi-thematic and includes Greek and international speakers from politics, entrepreneurship, the research community, society and culture.
On 6 April 2024, the second day of the conference, from 12:15 to 13:00, at the Panel on: “How Greece evolves into a smart state” moderated by Alexandros Melidis, Director of the Open Technologies Alliance (GFOSS), has the following participating panellists:
- Dimitris Papastergiou, Minister of Digital Governance
- Stefanos Kollias, Emeritus Professor of. NTUA and Chairman of the Board of Directors of theNational Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures (GRNET), a body of the Ministry of Digital Governance,
- Lilian Mitrou, Professor of the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of the Aegean, and
- Cleo Sgouropoulou, Professor of Informatics & Computer Engineering, member of the Management Board of the University of West Attica.
Within the framework of the conference, social interactive activities are organised, with the main orientation being the strengthening of culture in Ioannina and Epirus, and free educational seminars for students and professionals who are at the beginning of their careers.
The conference offers physical attendance as well as live streaming in Greek and English. Livestream links are available on the conference website and GRNET's DIAVLOS channel, allowing remote participation.
