TechTalks4Girls: a day to inspire young people to embark on digital careers
How can you imagine what a digital career would look like in the real world, if you chose that particular path - especially if you don't meet with someone, who has already embarked on that path?
It is on this basis that the Luxembourgish TechTalks4Girls initiative was born: a whole day dedicated to bringing together students and women already working in digital, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The objective is simple, but key: show concrete career paths, share real experiences and give young people – especially girls – the opportunity to discover jobs they still rarely consider.
A day of meetings and inspiration
On Thursday 26 February 2026, pupils aged 14 to 19, accompanied by their teachers, are invited to participate in TechTalks4Girls at Kinepolis Kirchberg (Luxembourg).
The event is primarily aimed at girls, but it is also open to boys. Understanding, questioning and deconstructing gender stereotypes is an issue that concerns all young people.
Agenda
Welcome and introduction: the day will begin with personal messages addressed to students by Ministers Yuriko Backes and Elisabeth Margue.
Inspiring Talks: Short, sincere and accessible interventions from people working in the fields of ICT and STEM. They will share:
- their daily job,
- the challenges faced,
- what they like about their work,
- and the path that led them to their profession.
Exchanges and discussions: a dedicated Questions and answers (Q&A) sessions give an opportunity to students to interact directly with the speakers - or catch them around the breaks.
Screening of a free film: the day will close with the screening of the film "Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, a popular and inspiring example of strong women shattering stereotypes.

Please note the talks will be held in English. However, students will be able to ask their questions in French, English or Luxembourgish.
