The 2023 edition of Latvian ICT Award 2023 is open for nominations!
The Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association (LIKTA) has launched a call to action and invites nominations for the annual Latvian ICT prize “Platinum Mouse Award 2023”. The Award has taken place annually for 16 years now - with the goal of supporting innovative digital solutions created in Latvia, including initiatives on digital transformation in service provision, public education and creation of new technologies. The Award targets entrepreneurs and various organisations that drive forward the digital transformation in Latvia.
Why these awards? Towards a digital & European decade
In the words of Professor Signe Balina, President of LIKTA:
“As every year, rapid technological development and the entry of artificial intelligence into our everyday life can be observed. The annual Latvian ICT prize “Platinum Mouse Award” serves as an incentive for organisations to take targeted steps towards digital development by developing and implementing new technology solutions. Submitted projects and initiatives can also act as a source of inspiration for those who are still in the early stages of the digital transformation. This year we want to focus on the digital transformation of businesses and public administration, to assess organisations’ initiatives to promote cybersecurity, and to celebrate the best e-teachers who use digital solutions and artificial intelligence opportunities in their work. With this award, we want to show that the ICT sector contributes to the development of the national economy, and every solution and project drives us closer to achieving goals of the European Digital Decade”
Categories of the Latvian ICT Awards 2023
- “Digital transformation of the businesses”, with the support of the Ministry of Economy;
- "State digital transformation" (by assessing systems and services separately);
- "Best cybersecurity initiative", with the support of the Ministry of Defence;
- "Best e-teacher", with the support of the Baltic leading language technology company Tilde.
For the "Best e-teacher" category, educators in the field of formal education, who effectively use the possibilities of digital content, digital solutions and artificial intelligence in the learning process, are warmly encouraged to apply.
The evaluation of nominations will be carried out by a representative jury composed of experts from the public and private sectors, as well as leading journalists.

Applications for the “Platinum Mouse Award 2023’ can be submitted electronically until 10:00 am on October 23, 2023, on LIKTA website, where you can also find the full award specifications. The winners will be announced at the LIKTA annual conference on 30 November 2023.
The “Platinum Mouse Award” is being awarded since 2007 with the aim of recognizing the most successful digital solutions created in Latvia. Meaningful use of technology in the society, business, administration and education contributes to both overall economic and social growth and opens up new opportunities for businesses in a wide range of sectors, as well as for all citizens.
