Digital Welcome Methodology Created byMatteo Mirigliano|Updated24 July 2024The Digital Welcome Methodology is a framework, aligned with the European Commission's DigComp, is part of the Digital Welcome programme, which targets young refugees and newcomers to Europe. The programme and methodology accompany each other to foster skills like problem-solving, communication and interaction, and on a broader level promote digital thinking as part of societal integration. In addition, the methodology offers a practical approach of enhancing the skills of the target audience when it comes to coding, computational thinking and related technology. The framework has a pedagogical approach and demonstrates the benefits of peer-to-peer and project-based learning, and as such can be useful to practitioners working with volunteers, refugees or migrants. The resource also highlights the advantages of employing young refugees and newcomers by showcasing other companies' successes with this approach and aims to encourage employers, public institutions and the private sector to extend organisational capacity and contribute to employment trends and opportunities for migrants and refugees.
