Based in Budapest, CEPOL aims to building a safer Europe by facilitating knowledge sharing on issues and challenges concerning EU priorities in the field of security. Aiming to become the EU’s hub for law enforcement training, CEPOL focus on key thematic areas, including organised crime, counter-terrorism, and cyber crimes. The goal is to enhance cross-border cooperation through vocational training and learning. CEPOL's Cybercrime AcademyOne of the thematic areas that CEPOL focuses on is cybercrime and cyber-related crime. With increasing digitalisation of European societies and economies, and the development of new technologies such as AI (Artificial Intelligence) and blockchain comes new vulnerabilities and increasingly sophisticated cyber risks and cyber-related crimes. In response to this context, CEPOL has created the Cybercrime Academy with the aim to strengthen the digital skills of law enforcement officials from across Europe. Law enforcement officials from all over Europe travel to the specialized training center in Budapest to develop their skills and knowledge on cybercrime and cyber-relalted illicit activities. Who is CEPOL made for? CEPOL seeks to help law enforcement officials acquire the skills and knowledge needed to prevent, and fight against, crime.
