AI Fundamentals (CYRUS)

The goal of the CYRUS project, financed under the DIGITAL Europe Programme of the European Union, is to chart a blueprint for enhancing employees’ cybersecurity skills, ensuring better protection against cybersecurity attacks. The project analyses current security needs and future cyber threat scenarios to develop tailored cybersecurity training and assessment methodology for employees in the transport and manufacturing sectors. 

About this course

'AI Fundamentals' equips professionals working in the 2 sectors with a solid foundational knowledge of AI, which expands to understanding AI assistants and their potential to optimise workflows. It goes through topics like navigating the existing AI landscape, prompt engineering and practical applications through hands-on exercises. This training course is specifically designed to equip enthusiastic software developers and sector employees, specialising in AI with a good foundational understanding of AI assistants' main functionalities, as well as their ability to optimise workflows and business processes. 

The training is free of charge and offered as self-paced e-learning available on demand from April 2025 to October 2025 as well as an online instructor-led session on the following dates with a duration of approximately 4 hours.

Learning outcomes 

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will: 

• Gain an improved understanding of the AI landscape and develop knowledge around key AI sub-topics, like AI assistants and prompt engineering.
• Get to know some of the most famous practical AI applications through hands-on exercises and a diverse set of case studies.
• Explore a variety of AI tools used to optimise workflows and increase work productivity, as well as support the generation of content and ideas.
• Develop a foundational knowledge and the ability to navigate in the rapidly-evolving AI ecosystem with confidence and ease.
