FactCzech or How to work with image and text hoaxes

An online course from the National Pedagogical Institute of the Czech Republic deals with the topic of work with image and text hoaxes - in Czech. The course takes place on 20 October 2025 - its materials, recording and resources are available on NPI's website. 

Course description

The course focuses on deepening digital and media literacy and developing critical thinking. He works with specific events and their media image. Participants in the course will get a chance to: 

• analyse articles and posts on social networks and news sites, distinguish balanced texts from biased and manipulative ones, and verify the correctness of their conclusions with Verifee;
• search for original unmodified photos from posts on social networks and news sites with the help of reverse photo search tools and find out the original contexts in which they were created. 

They will also get support in learning how to use AI to verify their conclusions, and ultimately identify the narratives with which disinformation spreads, and how they impact society. 

Participants will need a downloaded Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browser on their laptop or computer, and ideally a downloaded Google (Lens) image and video search engine on their mobile phone.
