Free Online Cybersecurity Course for Small Businesses

The free Online Cybersecurity Course for Small Businesses is launched within the framework of the European Cyber Security Month 2021, a joint initiative of the European Commission and ENISA, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity.

Organised by SI-CERT, the Slovenian Computer Emergency Response Team, the course is titled 'Safe at the office' or 'Varni v pisarni' in Slovenian. 

Course objectives

The aim of the course is to lay down the foundations for work-based information security. Targeting employees in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the free course provides a range of practical tips on how to improve the cybersecurity level in an organisation. This is becoming increasingly important as 50% of cyber attacks take place in smaller businesses. In addition, the smaller an organisation is, the less likely it is to invest in workforce upskilling, or have the necessary network security measures in place to prevent loss of data or information theft. This means that SME employees often lack training in the knowledge and skills they need to recognise, detect, and protect their business operations from cyber attacks. The Slovenian course gives an overview of the cybersecurity measures and practices employees need to know if they want their, and their clients' data to be safe. 

Course details 

The course is free of charge, accessible to anyone, and available only in Slovenian. It is delivered in a video format and consists of 4 modules, with each module addressing a specific job position or role. The course is entirely self-paced, and can be taken at any time, which makes it suitable for employee training as course material can be adjusted to different work schedules.
