UNITE Open Calls: Transform the Future of European Digital Health

Context

UNITE is a €20 million pan-European programme under the European Commission’s Regional Innovation Valleys initiative, designed to create a borderless European digital health innovation ecosystem. It aims to accelerate healthcare transformation through digital deep-tech solutions, tackling challenges linked to demographic change and ageing populations.
The first UNITE Open Call aims to support innovative digital solutions addressing two key challenges:

  1. Advancing More Personalised and Human-Centric Remote Care
  2. Advancing European Health Data Spaces

Aims 

1. Advancing More Personalised and Human-Centric Remote Care

  • Empower patients with tools to manage and understand their health
  • Increase access to care for remote and underserved populations
  • Ensure continuity of care while reducing in-person visits

2. Advancing European Health Data Spaces

  • Enhance patient care by improving data accessibility and understanding
  • Advance research and innovation by providing better data access
  • Simplify the regulatory environment through data interoperability and harmonised frameworks

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants from the UNITE regions:

  • Zealand (Denmark), Northern Netherlands, Central Macedonia (Greece), Lombardy (Italy), Extremadura (Spain), Scotland (UK), and Romania
  • Each proposal must unite at least three organisations from three different regions

Funding Available

  • Total budget: €4,000,000
  • Maximum funding per project: €1,000,000
  • Maximum funding per organisation: €600,000 (including all UNITE open calls)

Timeline

  • Call opening: October 15, 2025
  • Submission deadline: January 15, 2026
  • Project duration: April 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027 (18 months)
