AI4GOV - Module C. Basic concepts and techniques in AI in public services - A generalised process for AI deployment in PA & Basic Concepts and Techniques in AI

This unit is divided in two sub-units and it's part of the Module C of the AI4GOV Master. In this module you will get an overview of the different types of techniques that are being used for the development and deployment of AI-based services (in the public sector and in industry). You will learn to differentiate between different types of knowledge, you will learn the main techniques that are used for knowledge representation, for data mining, for machine learning and for deep learning, and the different groups of tasks that can be solved with all these techniques, and when each of them are applicable.

A generalised process for AI deployment in public administration

The first sub-unit will respond to questions such as: How to deploy AI in public services? Contracting the right AI based service, providing its maintenance and making sure it's what's needed: what methodologies can support these processes? Whether you are involved in decision-making or a piece of the chain of implementation, here you'll gain elements and perspectives on integrating AI into public services.

Basic Concepts and Techniques in AI. What is the module about?

In the second sub-unit you'll learn about the various AI techniques used for developing and deploying AI-based services, understanding when and how to apply these techniques to solve specific public sector challenges.
