The "Advanced Deep Learning: Object Picking based on CAD model and 2D Camera" course is developed within the framework of the REBOOT project.
The REBOOT (Rebooting manufacturing industry with digitalisation skill development) project aims to make digital upskilling opportunities available and accessible to employees in small and medium-sized organisations (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector. Advanced digital skills courses are available in key areas for manufacturing like Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity and Industrial Internet of Things (IoT). The project is funded under the DIGITAL Europe Programme of the European Union.
About this course
'From CAD to AI robots: learn to train robots to detect and pick objects with precision. The objective of this course is to learn how to train an object pose estimation neural network for robot picking applications.

- Theoretical introduction on AI training from CAD file
- Hands-on experiment: rendering of synthetic data, application of network on images, communication with robot
- Discussion of alternative pose estimation and picking strategies"
The course has a total duration of 7 hours and takes place over the course of one full day. It is face-to-face and provided in English.
