Basic Blockchain Skills (TRUST-FOOD)

'Basic Blockchain Skills' is an online course developed within the scope of the TRUST-FOOD project, funded under the DIGITAL Europe Programme of the European Union, which digs deeper into the skills individuals and communities should have if they want to make the most out of the benefits blockchain has to offer.
The TRUST-FOOD project aims to enhance the adoption of Blockchain Technology (BCT) in the agri-food sector by developing specialized training courses that reskill and upskill employees, particularly those in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) within the Food Supply Chain (FSC), as well as jobseekers. The project seeks to bridge the blockchain knowledge gap by providing accessible, high-quality training that reflects the latest industry advancements and business needs.
Why this course?
This course unlocks the mysteries of blockchain and is meant for beginners in the area. We'll explore hashing functions (like SHA-256 & Keccak) that link blocks for security and unveil the role of nonces.

Learning outcomes
By the end of this course you will gain understanding of the practical aspects of the hash function, and be able to explain the connection of blocks in a blockchain using hashing algorithms. You will grasp the foundations of nonce and get to know the basics of how to work with a block explorer. You will be able to lead an informed discussion on the benefits of the UTXO transaction model and understand the connection between Understanding the connection between Seed phrase – private key – Address.
