ICT and cybersecurity specialists supported to obtain international professional certificates in Latvia
Since 19 November 2025, the State Education Development Agency has provided an opportunity for any person aged 18 or older the opportunity to receive compensation for obtaining internationally recognised certificates.
This initiative was initiated by Latvian Information and communications technology association (LIKTA) and Cyber Incident Response Institution of the Republic of Latvia (CERT.LV) to support the advanced skills and professionalism of ICT cybersecurity specialists.
Any person, regardless of their employment status, who has obtained one of the following certificates no earlier than 25 September 2025 shall be eligible for compensation:
- Certified Information Systems Auditor
- Certified Information Security Manager
- Certified Ethical Hacker
- OffSec Certified Professional
- Certified Cloud Security Professional
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- Cybersecurity Analyst+ (CS0-003)
- Advanced Security Practitioner (CAS-004)
- Cybersecurity certification
- Cybersecurity Architect
- Security Operations Analyst
- Identity and Access Administrator
- Information Protection Administrator
- Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamental
- Lead auditor or Lead Implementer
The financial support is provided within the framework of the project “Development of Individual Learning Account Access” implemented by the State Education Development Agency and covers the costs of taking the certification exam.
Any citizen of Latvia over years 18 old can create an individual learning account in the Skills Management Platform STARS, and authenticate with latvija.lv, internet bank or Smart-ID.
