Remote working security (CYRUS)

This training on secure remote access equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to protect remote work environments from cyber threats. Designed within the scope of the CYRUS project, the course covers best practices for securing remote connections, including Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), endpoint security and access control measures. Participants will also learn to identify risks such as phishing attacks, unauthorised access and insecure network configurations.
Target audience are employees working remotely, IT administrators as well as students and professionals handling sensitive data outside secure corporate networks.
Upon completing this training, participants will be able to:
- Enhance endpoint security with MFA, antivirus and system hardening
- Strengthen home network defences using secure router settings and firewalls
- Configure VPNs with strong encryption protocols for secure remote access
- Recognise and mitigate cyber threats targeting remote users
- Understand the role of VPNs in securing online communications
The training is free of charge and offered as self-paced e-learning available on demand from April 2025 to October 2025 with a duration of approximately 2 hours.
