The University of Amsterdam (UvA) was established in 1632. It offers educational programmes in the arts, humanities, natural sciences, social sciences and medical sciences. The UvA has 6,000 staff members, 3,000 PhD candidates and 40,000 students. The University aims to work at the city, regional, national, and international level with partners to strengthen their teaching offer, research, and impact.
