Joint Matchmaking Event: DEP Call for Sectoral Digital Skills Academies

On 28 May 2025 at 14:30 CEST, the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform (DSJP) and the Digital Large-Scale Partnership (Digital LSP) teamed up to host an exciting Joint Matchmaking Event. The session served as a launchpad for participants to build powerful partnerships, shape strong consortia, and bring their vision for Sectoral Digital Skills Academies to life.

Following the European Commission’s Info Day held on 16 May 2025, the event focused on the three flagship initiatives under the 8th Call of the Digital Europe Programme:

• DIGITAL-2025-SKILLS-08-QUANTUM-ACADEMY-STEP  Quantum Skills Digital Academy

• DIGITAL-2025-SKILLS-08-GENAI-ACADEMY-STEP Digital Skills Academy in Gen AI (AI Skills Academy, Part 1/2)

• DIGITAL-2025-SKILLS-08-VIRTUAL-WORLDS-ACADEMY-STEP Virtual Worlds Skills Academy

Participants gained valuable insights from the European Commission’s perspective, with an overview of the calls and key requirements presented by the Programme Manager at DG CONNECT.

The event was designed to support organisations in preparing strong proposals under the 8th Call by:

• Providing actionable insights from the 16 May Info Day

• Facilitating targeted matchmaking to help attendees meet ideal partners

• Offering a fast-track to forming high-impact, transnational consortia

• Enabling direct connections to the DSJP and Digital LSP networks

Whether participants had attended the Info Day or were preparing a proposal for the Sectoral Digital Skills Academies, the event offered a unique opportunity to connect, collaborate, and turn ideas into impactful initiatives.
