Digital Skills & Jobs Paltform 4 years anniversary

We’re turning four!

Since our launch in 2021 under the Connecting Europe Facility Programme, we’ve grown into the go-to European hub for all things digital skills and jobs. Over the past four years, the Platform has grown into the central European hub for digital skills development, playing a key role in advancing the objectives of the Digital Europe Programme and contributing to the ambitions of the Digital Decade.

Whether you are a citizen looking to improve your digital literacy, an educator seeking new resources, a policymaker designing inclusive strategies, or a business investing in digital upskilling, we’re here to support you. We provide high-quality, accessible content and tools that empower people and organisations across Europe to succeed in the digital transition.

We’re also proud to work closely with the National Coalitions for Digital Skills and Jobs – our partners on the ground who help turn local initiatives into European impact. This collaboration ensures that best practices are shared across borders and that digital upskilling efforts reflect real needs across sectors and regions.

A pan-European resource for every European citizen

The Platform provides high-quality content and resources tailored to a diverse audience, including citizens seeking to improve their digital literacy, educators in search of innovative learning resources, policymakers developing inclusive digital strategies, and businesses investing in digital upskilling. Its inclusive design ensures that stakeholders across Europe can access and benefit from the growing digital ecosystem.

Over the past four years, the Platform has evolved into a comprehensive resource centre. Today, our users can:

This collective space is designed for everyone. It fosters knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and cross-border collaboration — key enablers in meeting Europe’s digital ambitions.

Grounded in partnerships

A cornerstone of the Platform’s success is its close collaboration with the National Coalitions for Digital Skills and Jobs. These national-level partnerships ensure that regional and sectoral needs are represented, while also enabling the scaling of local initiatives into broader European impact. Through this network, good practices are shared, synergies are created, and efforts are better aligned with the EU’s overarching digital objectives.

New chapter, bigger impact

The last two years have seen the Platform take major steps forward:

  • In 2023, the Platform became the official home of the Cybersecurity Skills Academy, launched as part of the European Year of Skills. The Academy plays a critical role in closing the cybersecurity skills gap and bolstering Europe’s digital resilience.

  • In 2024, the introduction of the Digital Skills Talks series brought timely, 30-minute expert-led conversations on emerging technologies, trends, and policy challenges, offering valuable insights to professionals and decision-makers.

  • New platform features, including Partnership Requests and personalised content recommendations, have further enhanced the user experience by facilitating meaningful connections and tailored resource discovery.

Looking ahead: what’s next?

The momentum continues in 2025 with the upcoming European Digital Skills Awards 2025 which will highlight and reward Europe’s most inspiring and impactful digital skills initiatives. This celebration of excellence aims to showcase scalable models and foster greater awareness of successful digital education and training solutions.

As the Platform enters its fifth year, its mission remains clear: to empower individuals and organisations across Europe with the tools, knowledge, and connections needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital world.

Join the celebration!

To mark this milestone, a month-long campaign is underway, celebrating achievements, spotlighting user stories, and unveiling exciting updates.

Citizens, stakeholders, and partners are invited to join the conversation under the hashtag #Home4DigitalSkills and follow the campaign on the @DigitalSkillsEU channels on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook

Here’s to four more years of growing, connecting and advancing digital skills across Europe – together!
