Open Data Days Vienna

Event location
Höchstädtplatz 6, 1200 FH Technikum Wien, Austria

The Vienna University of Applied Sciences and the Vienna Economics Agency are inviting them to the second Open Data Expo on the occasion of the International Open Data Day 2023. Under the motto “experience and understanding of data”, a wide range of applications and projects based on publicly available data will be presented, as well as interactive workshops.

Open Data Expo

The one-day event revolves around the importance of publicly available data. The topic of Open Data will be brought closer to visitors through free visits of stands, interactive workshops and a common data walk. From use cases to opportunities to develop new applications and apps, it shows how to exploit the multiple potential of publicly available data. For example, a dedicated workshop on “Chat GPT and Open Data” will address the current topic of artificial intelligence and its interaction with open data. Find out more about the programme here.

The data walk

In the afternoon of 3 March, a data walkway entitled ‘Data on Earth and underground’ will take place, with stations inspired by the 2022 data background. Already in 2022, a guided walk was held on the occasion of the Open Data Days and focused on the Vienna urban plan. It provided various data from the city, as well as specific information on the environment, culture, land use and use of ViennaGIS. Find out more about the Open Data Day 2022 – data walk.
