Foundations of Cybersecurity - SPECTRO

The Foundations of Cybersecurity course is a free online course aiming to provide participants with the foundational knowledge needed to continue towards more advanced topics in the field of cybersecurity. 

Taught by Antti Hakkala, a Cybersecurity expert and educator at the University of Turku, participants will:

• Gain knowledge of the characteristics of computer systems and applications that are critical for cyber security
• Develop your expertise in the role of information security within computer systems and application software, understand the vulnerabilities in networked systems, and learn how malicious parties might exploit them
• Learn why systems and software must be designed to be safe and secure from the beginning, rather than treating safety and security as added features. 

This course will cover topics including fundamental concepts of information and cybersecurity, cryptography and software security, basics of firewalls, and security of online services.
