These areas of study are crucial for tackling the challenges of today’s digital landscape, preparing you to navigate complex security threats effectively. Study programmeThis jointly-taught degree by the Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) and the University of Tartu aims to train specialists for high-end technical roles such as security analyst, digital forensic expert or for more managerial roles such as team leaders or technology officers. The full-time study programme spans over two years and is fully taught in English. Successfully completing the programme confers 120 ECTS credits to students. Students are offered 3 possible options of specialisation: cybersecurity, digital forensics, and cryptography. Completing this programme prepares graduates to enter the workforce or follow further studies at the doctoral level with TalTech's Information and Communication Technology PhD programme. Students who complete this programme will receive two degrees - one from the Tallinn University of Technology and one from the University of Tartu.CurriculumThe curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, ensuring you develop practical skills to respond to emerging cybersecurity risks. Courses in human factors, law, threat intelligence, space cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things provide specialist knowledge, opening opportunities across various industries. Students will follow a general studies programme that covers information technology, entrepreneurship and /or Estonian language and culture. Alongside this is a core studies component will equip students with core cyber security knowledge on management, technology, as well as human and legal aspects. Students will then opt for a specialisation in either cybersecurity, digital forensics, or cryptography. Students can also choose elective courses in line with their interests or specialisation. Finally, students will have to complete a graduate thesis.
