AI Implementation in Industry (MERIT Short Course)
MERIT is a project co-funded by the European Union under the Digital Europe Programme, carried out by four European universities together with research centres, SMEs and digital innovation hubs. The project aims to strengthen digital skills across Europe through new and updated master’s programmes in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and the Internet of Things (IoT).
To make advanced knowledge more accessible, the MERIT project also offers short-term courses focusing on key skills for industrial digital transformation. One of these courses is AI Implementation in Industry, developed by Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech). The course provides a practical introduction to applying artificial intelligence methods to real-world industrial and engineering problems.
Course Overview
This short course introduces core AI methods used in industrial modelling, optimization and decision-making. Participants will learn how artificial neural networks, AI-based optimization techniques and multicriteria decision-making methods support data-driven decisions in production, logistics and engineering systems.
By the end of the course, participants will have a clear understanding of how AI supports smarter, more efficient and more transparent industrial decision-making processes.
