Email Header Analysis (CYRUS)

This training equips cybersecurity professionals, SOC analysts, digital forensics investigators and IT administrators with the skills to analyse email headers for security threats. Participants will learn how to extract, interpret and investigate email metadata to detect phishing, spoofing and other malicious activities. The course provides hands-on experience with both manual analysis and automated tools to identify threats and trace their origins.
Upon completing this training, participants will be able to:
- Analyse email headers to distinguish malicious emails from legitimate ones
- Understand key fields like Return-Path, Received and DKIM Signature
- Effectively verify email authenticity to enhance organisational security
The training, developed as part of the CYRUS project, is free of charge and offered as self-paced e-learning available on demand from April 2025 to October 2025 with a duration of approximately 1,5 hours.
