Second Call on Competence Centers

The DIGITAL-JU-CHIPS-2024-SG-CCC-3 call is part of the European Commission's initiative to strengthen the semiconductor ecosystem across Europe. This call focuses on establishing and enhancing Chips Competence Centres to bolster technical expertise and skills development in the semiconductor sector. This initiative is part of the broader Chips for Europe strategy under the European Chips Act, aiming to enhance Europe's technological leadership and ensure a resilient supply chain in the semiconductor sector.

Key Objectives

• Establishment of Competence Centres: The call aims to set up centres that will serve as hubs for semiconductor knowledge, fostering innovation and collaboration among industry stakeholders.

• Skills Development: A significant emphasis is placed on training and upskilling professionals to meet the evolving demands of the semiconductor industry.

• Research and Innovation Support: The centres will support research initiatives, bridging the gap between innovation and market deployment.

Eligibility and Application

• Designated Centres: Proposals must be submitted by entities designated by their respective Participating States.

• Co-Financing Requirement: Each proposal should include proof of co-financing by the Participating State, accompanied by a formal commitment letter.

• Legal Entities: Applicants must be legal entities established in EU Member States or countries associated with the Digital Europe Programme.
