Low exposure may be less a shield than a reflection of the kinds of jobs that make up developing economies in the first place, and the scale of the gains the report projects will depend on how quickly those complements are put in place. Thus, this discussion will ask who should finance and deliver the investments needed, what is at stake if they arrive too late, and whether reliance on a small number of global AI firms can offer a path to higher growth without creating new forms of technological dependence.Agenda12:30-13:00 Check-in and lunch13:00-13:05 Opening remarks by Jeromin Zettelmeyer, Bruegel Director13:05-13:45 DiscussionChair: Debora Revoltella, Bruegel Senior FellowGillian Edgeworth, Senior Managing Director, Macro Strategist & Fixed Income Portfolio Manager, Wellington ManagementMario Mariniello, Bruegel Senior FellowGaurav Nayyar, Director, World Development Report 2026, World Bank13:45-14:00 Q&ARegister for the eventContribute to the discussion and ask your questions on Sli.do #AIjobsEvent DetailsWebsite linkArtificial intelligence, jobs and growth in developing economiesTarget audienceDigital skills for the labour force.Digital technology / specialisationArtificial IntelligenceDigital skill levelBasicIntermediateAdvancedDigital ExpertGeographic scope - CountryAustriaBelgiumBulgariaCyprusRomaniaSloveniaCroatiaCzech republicDenmarkEstoniaFinlandFranceGermanyGreeceHungaryItalyIrelandMaltaLatviaLithuaniaLuxembourgNetherlandsPortugalPolandSwedenSpainSlovakiaShow moreShow lessIndustry - field of education and trainingGeneric programmes and qualifications not further definedBusiness and administration not further definedTarget languageEnglishGeographical sphereInternational initiativeEvent organizerBruegelEvent settingBlended Timeline Open Date06 October 2026 13:00Deadline Date06 October 2026 14:000 LikesLog in to comment
