Bridging the Digital Skills Gap: Empowering SMEs for the Future - Project EAGLE conference
On 20 November, from 8:00 to 14:25, join the final conference of the project EAGLE, a European-wide initiative tackling the digital skills gap in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Funded by the Digital Europe Programme and supported in Ireland by University of Limerick and Skillnet Ireland, this event brings together academic, industry, and training partners to celebrate the project’s achievements and explore future strategies for SME digital transformation.
The day will begin with an optional Business Networking Breakfast and Workshop (08:00–09:30), followed by the main conference programme (10:00–14:45). Attendees are welcome to register for either or both parts of the event. Attendees can also register to join remotely for some of the conference sessions.
The event takes place in-person, in Limerick, Ireland. Participants will be able to join some sessions remotely.

“Bridging the Digital Skills Gap: Empowering SMEs for the Future” is the final conference under the EAGLE project, which addresses the training gap in terms of digital skills across European SMEs. The project is made possible by a consortium of academic institutions, SME networks and training organisations across Europe, including partners from Spain, Slovakia, the Czech republic, Cyprus Ireland, Lithuania and Finland, all working together to bridge the digital skills gap for SMEs.
Who is this conference for?
The final conference of the EAGLE project is open to SME owners and managers, industry professionals, educators, policy makers, Chambers of Commerce, Enterprise Ireland, Regional Skills Forums, and EU Digital Programme stakeholders.

- Skills that Matter: Preparing SMEs for the Digital Future”. Facilitated by Aine Barry (Linear Expression).
- Conference Keynote by Mr Tim Crowe, CEO of WorxFlo: “AI and Supply Chain Digitalisation: Practical Insights for SMEs”.
- Panel Discussion: “Collaborating for Digital Success”. This panel will explore how strategic partnerships between industry, academia, and training networks can drive meaningful digital transformation for SMEs.
- Presentation of Project EAGLE outcomes and recommendations.
- European and Local supports available for SMEs in 2026 and beyond.
- Networking opportunities.
