The 2022 Strengthened Code of Practice on Disinformation is a first-of-its kind worldwide and is part of the European Commission's strategy to counter disinformation. The 2022 Strengthened Code is part of a broader regulatory framework and will become a co-regulatory instrument within the framework of the Digital Services Act. To achieve this, the Code serves as an innovative, self-regulatory tool for relevant players in the industry to fight disinformation.In light of the 2022 Strengthened Code, the European Commission has organised an overview session to present the focus areas, stakeholders involved, latest developments, highlight key milestones and explain what the implementation and monitoring phase will look like.
