European labour market in the aftermath of COVID-19. Building resilience through digital skills

Virtual Live

In the context of the European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek), DIGITALEUROPE is organising a workshop "European labour market in the aftermath of COVID-19. Building resilience through digital skills" on October 12, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, online.

To maintain economic and social life during the pandemic, people have embraced digital technologies, creating new learning habits and an unprecedented opportunity for boosting upskilling and reskilling. Even at the height of lockdown, there were thousands of jobs advertised and unfilled for digital technology roles.

As the sector is open for talent with micro-credentials, certifications and badges validating skills or competences, the EU recovery measures should explore new approaches to training.

Speakers

  • Izabela Milewska, Digital Skills Leader, Amazon Web Services
  • Eduardo Moreno, VP of Alliance and Strategic Partners, EMEA & India, Global Knowledge - A Skillsoft Company
  • Katrin Staffler, Member of the German Parliament, Christian Democratic Union
  • Lea Tornow, Member of the Board of Directors, Institute for professional education (IBB)

Moderator

  • Helena Lovegrove, Director of Operations and Projects, DIGITALEUROPE
