Quantum Sensor Engineering (QTindu)
'Quantum Sensor Engineering' is a workshop, organised in the framework of the QTindu project, designed to make the concepts behind quantum sensing available and accessible to a wide audience.
Funded under the Digital Europe Programme of the European Union, the QTindu project develops training courses specifically tailored to the requirements of companies and SMEs from different business sectors.
About this workshop
Created by Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), the National Metrology Institute of Germany, the introductory workshop on quantum sensing takes participants through aspects like quantum magnetometry and diamond colour centres (NV centres).
The course provides an overview of quantum technologies, a qualitative explanation of the physical principles involved, and insights into practical, real-world use cases. There is also a hands-on session using intuitive quantum education kits.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, you will:
- Understand the basic principles of quantum sensing.
 - Gain an overview of various quantum technologies.
 - Explore the advantages and limitations of these approaches.
 - Qualitatively explain the underlying physical phenomena.
 - Discover use cases and evaluate new application potential.
 - Perform measurements with user-friendly quantum education kits
