Advanced Digital Skills - Girls and Women in Digital: Join the online discussion and find project partners!

Objective: The objective of this action is to enhance girls’ and women’s involvement in ICT, hence advancing on the DDPP target of employing 20 million ICT specialists in the Union by 2030 as well as on the ‘Women in Digital Declaration’ goal of equality in tech. More specifically, the call aims at:

  • Identifying the main obstacles girls and women encounter when choosing educational and professional pathways in ICT;

  • Showcasing practical, effective, and feasible actions to boost their representation in the digital sector;

  • Creating a network of expertise and a community of stakeholders, so the Commission stays informed about effective best practice to encourage and support female participation in ICT across Europe.

Scope: The proposed projects are required to include the following activities:

  1. Monitor the progress by Member States in implementing the ‘Women in Digital Declaration’ and achieving relevant Digital Decade targets. 
  2. Establish a network of expertise and a community of stakeholders.
  3. Analyse the gender gap within ICT, educationally and professionally. 
  4. Provide a set of recommendations for actions and activities to effectively combat the EU’s gender imbalance in ICT. The recommendations will be well documented.

Funding: € 2.000.000
Deadline: The application deadline is 29 May 2024 17:00, Brussels time.

Info session: On 12 March 2024, the European Commission will present the sixth round of the DIGITAL Europe Programme call for proposals in a dedicated Info Day event.
