Advanced Cloud Application & Data Security (CYBER PRO TRAIN IT–ES-GR)

Start Date
15.September.2026
End date
17.Sep.2026

This training module provides participants with practical knowledge of advanced cloud application and data security, focusing on APIs, IAM risks, containerized services, secure input validation, and protection of cloud-based applications and data.

Main objectives

This training module aims to provide participants with a practical understanding of advanced cloud application and data security principles used to protect modern cloud-native systems and services. Participants will explore how cloud applications interact through APIs, how access controls are enforced, and how vulnerabilities can affect cloud-hosted applications and sensitive data.

The course introduces concepts such as API security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), least privilege principles, secure input validation, secure software design, and cloud application threat modelling. Learners will also examine common vulnerabilities including SQL and NoSQL Injection, insecure APIs, IDOR vulnerabilities, excessive permissions, and risks associated with vulnerable containers and dependencies.

Special attention is given to secure application architectures, API gateways, dependency management, cloud-native protection mechanisms, and strategies for protecting sensitive data in distributed cloud environments.

Target

The training is designed for professionals, including SME employees, ICT practitioners, developers, cybersecurity learners, students, cloud administrators, and Public Administration staff interested in strengthening their knowledge of cloud application security and secure data protection practices.

Program

  • Introduction to Cloud Application Security
  • APIs and Cloud Service Communication
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Input Validation and Injection Risks
  • IDOR and Access Control Vulnerabilities
  • API Gateways and Secure Architectures
  • Practical Security Analysis and Exercises

Learning outcomes

After completing the training, participants will understand the security challenges affecting cloud applications and data, recognize common attack vectors and vulnerabilities, apply secure application design principles, and evaluate security controls used in modern cloud-native environments.

The course issues an OPEN BADGE recognizing the acquired cybersecurity and wireless network security skills.
