Advanced Container Security (CYBER PRO TRAIN IT–ES-GR)

Start Date
22.September.2026
End date
24.Sep.2026

This training module provides participants with practical knowledge of container security, secure image creation, secrets management, and runtime protection principles used in modern cloud-native and containerized environments.

Main objectives

This training module aims to provide participants with a practical understanding of container security principles and the cybersecurity risks associated with containerized environments and cloud-native infrastructures. Participants will explore how containers operate, how container images are built, and how insecure configurations can expose systems to attacks.

The course introduces concepts such as container architecture, container images and layers, container runtimes, image scanning, secrets management, least privilege principles, and attack surface reduction. Learners will also examine common threats including poisoned images, insecure Dockerfiles, privileged containers, runtime attacks, exposed APIs, and container misconfigurations.

Special attention is given to secure container image design, dependency control, image versioning, vulnerability scanning tools, hardened container configurations, and best practices for protecting secrets and sensitive information in containerized systems.

Target

The training is designed for professionals, including SME employees, ICT practitioners, developers, cybersecurity learners, students, cloud administrators, and Public Administration staff interested in strengthening their knowledge of container security and secure cloud-native application deployment.

Program

  • Introduction to Container Architecture
  • Containers vs Virtual Machines
  • Container Threat Landscape and Runtime Risks
  • Secure Dockerfile and Image Design
  • Secrets Management and Dependency Control
  • Container Image Scanning and Vulnerability Analysis
  • Practical Security Analysis and Exercises

Learning outcomes

After completing the training, participants will understand the security challenges affecting containerized environments, identify common container vulnerabilities and misconfigurations, apply secure image creation principles, and evaluate defensive strategies used in modern cloud-native infrastructures.

The course issues an OPEN BADGE recognizing the acquired cybersecurity and wireless network security skills.
