Upskilling and reskilling the Tourism Ecosystem I Tourism Knowledge hub and Tourism Data Space

The PPPA-2024-Skill-for-Tourism call for proposals, managed by EISMEA, aims to support the upskilling and reskilling of the tourism ecosystem, with a particular emphasis on enhancing digital skills. By focusing on the following areas, the call aims to equip the tourism sector with the necessary digital skills to thrive in an increasingly digitalized market:
- Developing and disseminating guidelines to support the use of digital tools like the D3Hub and the future European tourism data space.
- Facilitating the transition of tourism SMEs and destinations towards more digital and data-driven practices.
- Organizing capacity-building activities, including online and offline training, workshops, and webinars, to enhance digital competencies among DMOs and SMEs
Objectives
The primary goal is to develop guidelines that assist Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism sector to effectively use the D3Hub and the forthcoming European tourism data space. This initiative seeks to facilitate the transition of tourism SMEs and destinations towards more digital, data-driven, and sustainable practices. Additionally, it aims to increase access to training and upskilling opportunities for DMOs and tourism SMEs.
Eligibility Conditions
- Eligible Participants: Entities such as DMOs, tourism SMEs, and other relevant stakeholders from EU Member States are eligible to participate.
- Consortium Composition: Proposals must be submitted by a consortium comprising at least three independent entities from three different EU Member States.
- Additional Requirements: The selected proposal must join the Pact for Skills and participate in the Large-Scale Partnership (LSP) for tourism, particularly concerning support for digital skills.
Consortium composition
Proposals must be submitted by a consortium complying with all of the following conditions:
- minimum three (3) and maximum seven (7) applicants (beneficiaries, not affiliated
entities); - from minimum three (3) and maximum five (5) different EU Member States;
- minimum one (1) research, tertiary education institution, or training institution specialising in the tourism sector – to be clearly indicated in the proposal;
- minimum one (1) destination management organisation (DMO) – to be clearly
indicated in the proposal; - minimum one (1) public relations (PR) agency
