To meet the growing demand for a quantum-ready workforce, the DigiQ project aims to transform the educational ecosystem in Quantum Technology (QT). By introducing innovative teaching methods and a multinational program structure, the project seeks to scale up and enhance quantum education across the European Higher Education Area. This involves upgrading existing QT Master programs, developing new programs, and providing a bridging program to align non-specialist degrees with the needs of the QT workforce.
The project encompasses four core elements: creating a comprehensive ecosystem of innovative short modules, enhancing existing courses for better focus and remote accessibility, establishing networks of students, university staff, and industry partners for workshops and events, and implementing a mobility program for student exchange and internships with over 100 industrial partners. All educational initiatives will be mapped to the Quantum Technology Competence Framework and aligned with emerging Qualification Profiles developed by the Quantum Flagship to ensure coherence and relevance.
Scope
The scope of DigiQ is meet the emerging need for a quantum-ready workforce in the coming decade, university training efforts within Quantum Technology (QT) will not only have to be massively scaled up but also comprehensively reformed.
