Good Practices

'Junta Andalucía' is a training programme that is currently running in the Spanish region of Andalusia, and a product of the collaboration between the Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training of the Junta de Andalucía and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The main goal is to support the next generation of digital talents in the region and respond to the growing demands for ICT in the Spanish job market. Training in cloud computing via AWS Cloud is integrated within the educational curriculum of ICT in the region of Andalusia in a complementary way. The training  programme kicked off in 2021, and runs until the end of July 2023.

Why is this a good practice?

The training programme is the first of its kind in Spain. It is available in 105 vocational training centres in Andalusia, with a total of 175 cycles of Information Technology, offering training content based on cloud technologies.

The programme is expected to train around 6,000 students in Andalusia over the next 2 years. Support to teachers is also provided, with more than 700 teachers already involved in various activities.

The training supports not just an improved skillset and digital competences, but also facilitates access to job opportunities in the field (from cloud architecture, to data analytics, cybersecurity, IoT, or software development), and 'cloud native' jobs, such as operations development or DevOps.
