European Cybersecurity Skills Conference 2023

The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) has announced the 2nd edition of the annual European Cybersecurity Skills Conference on 21 and 22 September in Segovia (Spain). This new edition will focus on sharing and discussing progress related to the promotion and support of the ENISA Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF). The conference will also discuss ENISA's role in the European Commission's Cybersecurity Skills Academy initiative.

In particular, the conference will give the opportunity to:

  • Bring together the cybersecurity-skills community, facilitating the exchange of experiences, challenges, and good practices as a result of ECSF implementation
  • Discuss different ways to improve and synergize ENISA-ECSF with other related initiatives at the EU and Member States' level
  • Raise awareness on the need to promote multi-stakeholder cooperation on cybersecurity skills

Programme Overview

Day 1: Thursday 21 September, 2023

  • 9.00 - 10.00: Registration and welcome coffee
  • 10.00 - 11.00: Opening / Welcome & Keynote speech: Félix A. Barrio Juarez (INCIBE), Ingrida Taurina (ENISA), Despina Spanou (Head of the Cabinet of the Vice-President of the European Commission for promoting our European Way of Life), Clara Sanz (Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training), Carme Artigas (SEDIA)
  • 11.00 - 11.20: The European Commission Communication on the skills Academy
  • 11.20 - 11.40: Impact and Prospect of the European Cybersecurity Framework (ECSF)
  • 11.40 - 12.55: Synergies among European Initiatives
  • 14.30 - 15.45: From strategy to actions: National policy initiatives endorsing ECSF
  • 16.15 - 17.15: Closing the professional skills gap: the role of private entities

Day 2: Friday 22 September, 2023

  • 9.30 - 9.45: Keynote speech with Karen Wetzel (NIST)
  • 9.45 - 11.00: Driving Impact: Empowering Certifications through ECSF
  • 11.00 - 11.15: Cybersecurity Higher Education Database (CyberHEAD)
  • 11.45 - 13.00: Promoting Excellence - capacity building activities embracing the ECSF
  • 14.30 - 14.45: ECSC learning outcomes and ECSF
  • 14.45 - 16.00: Inspiring testimonials from the Cybersecurity Frontlines

The conference is organised by the Spanish Council Presidency in partnership with the Spanish Ministry of Education and the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE).
